Product Review:PROACTIV® SOLUTION CORE SYSTEM

Product Review:

PROACTIV® SOLUTION CORE SYSTEM

Product Information: Be Proactiv 3-Step System to clear skin. Step 1 renewing cleanser gently exfoliates dead skin cells allowing salicylic acid to penetrate pores. Step 2 revitalising toner smoothes and softens skin with botanicals leaving your skin hydrated and rejuvenated. Step 3 repairing lotions hydrate skin while penetrating deep to the source of the blemish to help prevent new breakouts.

I was really disappointed with this product, with celebrities like Kate Perry, Justin Bieber, Lindsay Lohan claiming that it did wonders to their skins I was really expecting it to work but again those celebrities are paid to advocate Proactiv. My honest view about Proactiv is, it dried my skin so much that occasionally I felt like I have a mask on my skin and found it hard to move my face in general. It burns, stings and dries not only acne/zits but your entire face. It’s a very harsh product and is not suitable for sensitive or dry skin. And its bloody expensive £39.90 for ‘Proactiv 4-Piece Core System’ and ‘Proactiv Luxury Skincare Set’ is £59.90 with an added postage cost of £5.95. This product is suitable for serious acne problems/all over the face/oily face. Make sure to check that you are not committing to a membership and it’s only a one off purchase while buying online, the best way to make sure is to get it over the phone. Well, that’s what I did. After paying a fortune on Proactiv and refusing to let it dry out in my drawer. I found a way to cause minimum harm (excess drying) to my skin as possible and that is by using a cotton bud (Q-Tip) on individual acne/zits and its helping but it will take a rather long while to finish this product. Buying again? NEVER

Product Review: MAC LIPGLASS (OH BABY & EXPLICIT)

Product Review:
MAC LIPGLASS
Product Information: A unique lip gloss available in a wide variety of colours that can create a high gloss, glass-like finish or a subtle sheen. Designed to be worn on its own, over Lip Pencil or Lipstick, Tinted Lipglass is the perfect product for creating shine that lasts. It's pigmented, very shiny and can impart subtle or dramatic colour. It contains Jojoba Oil to help soften and condition the lips. Tinted Lipglass is packaged in a convenient bottle with a sponge tip applicator that provides a quick, smooth, even application.
MAC LIPGLASS: OH BABY AC4
I love the colour; it has rusty golden sparkles (glitters) to it. It really works well over any lipstick (I prefer nude lipstick underneath, to glam up!). It is pigmented and glitzy so it works fine without any lipstick underneath as well. Price: £12.50 (MAC)
MAC LIPGLASS: EXPLICIT AB6
A tone lighter than ‘oh baby’ the only difference is the silver sparkles instead of golden.

Product Review: MAC PRO LONGWEAR CONCEALER

Product Review:
MAC PRO LONGWEAR CONCEALER

Product Information:
A lightweight fluid concealer that provides medium to full coverage with a comfortable, natural matte finish. Colour-true formula lasts up to 15 hours.  Helps conceal and correct the look of under-eye circles, and discolorations. Comes in a clear glass vial with a matte black pump.

The MAC Pro longwear concealer is brilliant for concealing dark circles and spots. It is easy to work with as it is liquid based. Primer is a must while using this product as the product did dry out my skin and left dry patches around the spots. I apply additional moisturizer around those areas to get rid of any odd dry patches. It does not last 15 hours on my skin as it claims. Overall, a good value for money £13.50 (MAC), 9ML lasts a long way.

Product Review: L'Oreal Paris Youth Code Day Cream

Product Review:
L'Oreal Paris Youth Code Day Cream
Product Information: Mature skin and young skin behave differently when exposed to external aggressions. As you age, skin takes longer to recover and responds more slowly. The complexion loses luminosity, facial features appear tired and wrinkles deepen. Youth Code Rejuvenating Anti-Wrinkle Day Cream leaves your skin hydrated, smoother and more radiant. Skin behaves more youthfully: luminosity is improved and facial features appear rested.

I have been using this cream for a month now and I’m pleased with this product. I like this product; it is non greasy and leaves skin looking fresh and soft. The only drawback is the product does not have any SPF (Sun Protection Factor).I cannot imagine applying sunscreen on top of that as I’ve got a combination skin(oily/dry) and applying two products will definitely cause a breakout. I might have to switch to something with SPF this summer. Even though I love this product I would recommend you to get something with SPF instead. The retail price of this product is £10.21(Boots).

Product Rating: **** (I would have rated it 5 stars if it had SPF)

Product review: Maybelline Skin Retexturising Primer

Product review:
Maybelline: Instant Anti-Age (TheSmoother, Skin Retexturising Primer)

The best thing about this product is the handy packaging which fits easily in any bag. The product has Vaseline like texture with little shinny particles in it. I must admit that by the looks of it I thought the product is going to be sticky and shiny but it caught me by surprise it’s amazing how it blends in my skin and does what a primer should do, leaves a smooth surface to work on. I don’t wear too much of foundation so it’s working for me. Tiny amount is enough for the whole face and neck area. Give it a try it is less than a tenner and is available in all major UK drugstores.
